Cisco CCNA Security Certification - Overview
The Cisco CCNA Security course is designed to provide staff with an introduction to core security technologies. Through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises students will be able to develop security policies and protect their IT infrastructure. The course is based upon applying security through the features of Cisco’s IOS (Internetwork Operating System). The CCNA Security certification is a required step towards the CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional).
Course Objectives
The primary objective is for delegates to gain a working knowledge of network security concepts and practices including:
- Configuring Cisco routers using IOS Software security features
- Configuring network devices to restrict access
- Maintaining the integrity of network traffic
- Configuring Intrusion Protection on Cisco devices

Examination Passing Policy
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year. Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.
Cisco CCNA Security Certification - Prerequisites
Course Prerequisites
- A working knowledge of the Windows operating system.
- A valid CCNA certification is required prior to attending this course.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
