A Firebrand Training
14
Day Course
The goal of this fourteen-day accelerated program for Cisco Certified Security Professional Certification is to provide network security professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and implement highly secure networked business systems. Cisco Certified Security Professional Certification provides an individual with professional level recognition in designing and implementing Cisco security solutions using Cisco IOS, ACS, PIX Firewalls, the VPN 3000 Series Concentrators, IDS technologies and CiscoWorks VMS.
The Community for National Systems Security (CNSS) now awards the "Information Systems Security Professional" (INFOSEC) certification for the successful completion of the program's first four Cisco certification exams.
During the program, students will live, learn, and take the Cisco exams at one of our state-of-the-art education centres. This blended-learning program employs outcome-based (Lecture | Lab | Review) delivery - that focuses on preparing you with the real-world skills required to pass the simulator-based exams and to hit the ground running in your career.
Security has always been a concern to organizations that perform business. As organizations expand their networks and interconnect, the emphasis on network security has moved to the forefront. The market for skilled network security professionals has never been better. Remembering that network security is simply security applied to networking, it only makes sense to hone your skills on products that are the most recognized in the industry when working toward a network security certification.
Overall, Cisco certification validates an individual's achievement, increasing the holder's professional credibility by ensuring high standards of technical expertise. In particular, Cisco CCSP certification indicates knowledge of Cisco security products and technologies, as well as the ability to use them to build integrated network security solutions.
Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.
Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.
This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.
Students that successfully complete this dual certification program will be able to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity and reduce costs. The program emphasizes topics such as perimeter security, virtual private networks, intrusion protection as well as how to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution.
Each training day is segmented into Lecture, Lab, and Review components that cater to a student's multiple learning styles (auditory, visual, kinaesthetic-tactual). Our program covers the following material:
Firebrand Training has an aggressive educational schedule that thoroughly covers all essential elements necessary to become CCSPcertified.
For exam information please see the CCSP Exam Track.
Instructors are available at all times to provide individual and group attention, lead lab exercises and practice sessions, and ensure the students' success. Our attention to detail shows in our unsurpassed instruction and customer service, our classroom and testing facilities, and our individual and corporate success stories.
The CCSP certification (Cisco Certified Security Professional) indicates advanced knowledge of securing Cisco networks. With a CCSP, a network professional can secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity and reduce costs. The content emphasizes topics such as perimeter security, virtual private networks, intrusion protection as well as how to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution.
During Firebrand Training's Program for Cisco CCSP Certification, the student will take a total of five (5) examinations as outlined below.
The Securing Cisco Network Devices 642-552 SND exam forms the foundation of the Cisco Certified Security Professional, Cisco Firewall Specialist, Cisco IPS Specialist, and Cisco VPN Specialist certifications. This exam includes simulations and tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to describe, configure and verify basic security features of Cisco Layer 2 devices, Cisco Routers, Cisco IDS/IPS Sensors, Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrators, and Cisco PIX Security Appliances.
The Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches exam 642-502 is one of the exams associated with the Cisco Certified Security Professional certification. This exam includes simulations and tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to secure networks using Cisco routers and switches.
The Securing Networks with PIX and ASA exam 642-522 is one of the exams associated with the Cisco Certified Security Professional and the Cisco Firewall Specialist certifications. This exam includes simulations and tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to describe, configure, verify and manage the Cisco PIX and ASA security appliance products.
The Securing Hosts Using Cisco Security Agent exam 642-513 HIPS is one of the exams associated with the Cisco Certified Security Professional certification. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the HIPS v3.0 course. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to describe, configure, and verify the Cisco Security Agent product.
The Securing Networks Using Intrusion Prevention Systems exam 642-532 is one of the exams associated with the Cisco Certified Security Professional and the Cisco IPS Specialist certifications. This exam includes simulations and tests a candidate's knowledge and ability to describe, configure, verify and manage the Cisco IPS appliance products.

Students who are successful in CCSP certification training may possess:
Cisco CCNA certification is a prerequisite for registering for the Cisco CCSP certification examinations.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.

"After putting off doing my CCSP for some time, I was glad to finally put myself on the course.
My biggest feeling that I had, was that I didn't have enough experience working on PIX firewalls and IDS/IPS systems. Only at an installation level.
But I did have a good networking background on routers and swiFirebrand*hes, had seen TACACS inplace, so that part of the course flew by. I'd set VPNs up before and must of been lucky, but this was the hardest test there's a lot to take in, but it was well worth it. SND was really easy, do this test at the end, no training is needed for that really.
If you come in with a good attitude and to want to pass this, you'll do well.
I now feel comfortable and happier going for the security jobs/contracts that get posted and emailed to me, I now have more choice. The course is paying for itself. As soon as I informed the two agencies I do work for that I was going on a CCSP course, they were lining work up for me. OK, so I have to get past the interview, I didn't/couldn't get there before!
Food's great, locations great, no distractions, good training, good atmosphere, I passed! What more could you want!
Other guys on the course had only just done their CCNA a couple of months ago, they passed, so if you're CCNA don't be worried about going for this!"
