A Firebrand Training
7
Day Course
The goal of this seven-day accelerated program for Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) Level 1 and CompTIA Linux+ Certification is to provide professionals with the basic hardware, software, and networking skills necessary to function in an entry level Linux information technology position. The course covers all the major Linux distributions (Red Hat, Caldera, SuSE, Debian, TurboLinux, Slackware, etc.)
This is a performance-based course designed upon the job-related tasks a Linux professional must perform.
Reasons for LPI Linux Level 1 Certification include career advancement, personal improvement, skills enhancement, and higher salaries. According to the Network Computing Special Careers Issue, http://www.networkcomputing.com, the networking professionals that enjoyed the largest compensation increases were those that achieved Linux Professional Institute Certificates.
According to the 2002 CRN Salary Survey, http://www.crn.com, "LPI Linux Level 1 Certification has the advantage of taking the focus off a specific vendor, which is critically important in the Linux area,"... "It gives us an extra degree of flexibility when it comes to providing the right solutions...".
Linux Professional Institute, the leader in Linux training and testing materials, makes the following observations about the benefits of Linux certification:

Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.

This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.
Firebrand Training provides thorough instructor-led training to ensure that you learn the fundamentals, obtain hands-on skills and earn your certification. You will emerge able to immediately apply your new knowledge in your career environment.
Throughout the course, Firebrand Training will evaluate the student's progress and preparedness for the vendor exams through the use of:

Firebrand Training offers top-quality technical education and certification training in an all-inclusive course package specifically designed for the needs and ease of our students. We attend to every detail so our students can focus solely on their studies and certification goals.
Our instructors teach to accommodate every student's learning needs through individualised instruction, hands-on labs, lab partner and group exercises, independent study, self-testing, and question/answer drills.
Firebrand Training has dedicated, well-equipped educational facilities where you will attend instruction and labs and have access to comfortable study and lounging rooms. Our students consistently say our facilities are second-to-none.
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year. Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.

"You have to be prepared to put effort in yourself. Firebrand* will give you everything you need to succeed but you have to help yourself as well by doing the precourse reading and then making sure you complete the assignments, coursework and reading. The week was a very worthwhile experience - and this is from someone who paid for the course themselves."
