A Firebrand Training

5

Day Course

EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) - Overview

The goal of our five-day Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) Firebrand Training is to equip information security professionals with the knowledge to identify and correct exploits that make information systems vulnerable to attack.

You will learn some of the latest techniques and tools for penetration testing because the best way to protect an organisation from malicious hackers is to be skilled in the art of ethical hacking.

During our Certification Training Program, you will live, learn, and take the (C|EH) examination at one of our state-of-the-art education centres. This blended-learning program employs outcome-based (Lecture | Lab | Review) delivery - that focuses on preparing you with the real-world skills required to obtain your certification and to hit the ground running in your career.

Our Certified Ethical Hacker Program:

  • Allows you to achieve your certification in less time than 'traditional training' while delivering industry-leading exam passing percentages
  • Helps students grasp complex technical concepts more easily by identifying and catering to individual student learning styles through a mixed visual, auditory and kinaesthetic-tactual delivery system
  • Enhances retention by employing accelerated learning techniques focused on committing information to long-term memory

EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) - Benefits

Given the complexity and scale of today's corporate networks, effective penetration testing may be the only way to find out how secure a network really is. Ethical Hackers can provide real evidence of weaknesses or provide real assurance that current controls are working effectively.

This course will significantly benefit security officers, auditors, security professionals, site administrators, and anyone who is concerned about the integrity of the network infrastructure.

Technical certification is a sound investment in your career - and your organisation. Although certification does not guarantee success, research has shown that it can have a significant impact on:

  • Morale and confidence
  • Efficiency and productivity on the job: 85% of managers view certified employees as more productive (Gartner Study)
  • Career advancement: 70.8% of IT managers view certification as a criteria for promotion (Gartner Study)
  • Financial rewards

Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.

Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.

Firebrand Training provides instruction to meet every learning need, including

  • Intensive group instruction
  • One-on-one instruction attention
  • Hands-on labs
  • Lab partner and group exercises
  • Question and answer drills
  • Independent study

This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.

EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) - Curriculum

Firebrand Training provides thorough instructor-led training to ensure that you learn the fundamentals, obtain hands-on skills, and earn your certification. You will emerge able to immediately utilise your newly-obtained knowledge and skills.

The Certified Ethical Hacker Accelerated Course will immerse the student into an interactive environment where they will be shown how to scan, test, hack and secure their own systems. The lab intensive environment gives each student in-depth knowledge and practical experience with the current essential security systems.

Students will begin by understanding how perimeter defences work and then be lead into scanning and attacking their own networks (no real network is harmed). Students then learn how intruders escalate privileges and what steps can be taken to secure a system. Students will also learn about Intrusion Detection, Policy Creation, Social Engineering, DoS Attacks, Buffer Overflows and Virus Creation.

Each training day is segmented into Lecture, Lab, and Review components that cater to a student's multiple learning styles (auditory, visual, kinaesthetic-tactual). Our program covers the following material.

Our CEH is now offered with the latest Version 6 curriculum.

"At first when registering, I really didn't know what to expect. I had never really done a course away from my usual learning enviroments such as university and the library. I was not looking forward to the registration dinner and meet, but was glad at how relaxed and friendly everyone was. The instructor was absolutely fantastic and made us all feel so welcome and relaxed. The training was well focused, balanced and fun, and this definately helped in getting complex key concepts accross to all of us. I had a great five days at Heythrope Park and feel a little sad to be leaving. I would have no hesitation to recommending Firebrand* to anyone out there who is not sure if this is for them. Trust me, you will be pleasantly surprised!! "
