A Firebrand Training
5
Day Course
During this five-day (5) accelerated program, students will learn and apply the PMI global project management best practices while preparing to successfully pass the examination. The PMP accelerated course is a highly interactive combination of lecture, lab, and exam-focused review sessions that merges accelerated learning principles with award-winning courseware and instructors to deliver the highest examination passing rates in the industry.
This course also prepares you for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, also managed by the Project Management Institute.
If you enjoy the prestige that comes from being the best in your field, then you'll appreciate the professional advantages derived from attaining the CAPM and PMP certifications, the profession's most globally recognised and respected credentials. These designations following your name tells current and potential employers that you have demonstrated a solid foundation of knowledge from which you can competently practice project management.
PMI's PMP credential is considered by many as the 'gold standard' of global project management certification. This credential, which is ISO 9001: 2000 compliant, connotes the holder as one who has demonstrated the knowledge, experience and leadership skills required to competently practice project management.
Attaining PMI's Project Management Professional Certification offers project managers a wide range of important benefits. The PMP designation following your name demonstrates to current and potential employers that you possess a solid foundation of experience and education in project management that can have a positive impact on bottom-line results. In fact, the certification exam is so important that many project managers are required by their companies to become certified in order to retain their positions. Many who achieve the certification have received raises, bonuses or promotions as a result. In fact, salaries of PMP Certified Project Managers are on average about 20% higher than similarly qualified Project Managers who do not have the prestigious PMP credential.
Considered an essential step for project team members, the CAPM credential can benefit a wide range of individuals who want to demonstrate a comprehensive and consistent understanding of the application of their work. By gaining knowledge of project management processes and terminology, project team members can enhance their contributions to the team's success.
The CAPM is designed for project team members who provide subject matter expertise (e.g. marketing, finance, customer care, processing, fulfilment), or serve as project team sponsors, facilitators, liaisons or coordinators.
Our primary goal is your education. Firebrand Training provides thorough instructor-led training to ensure that you learn the fundamentals, obtain hands-on skills, and earn your PMP certification. You will emerge able to immediately apply your new knowledge in your career environment.
Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.
Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.
This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.
In addition our curriculum will prepare you to take the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam.
Students attending this program will receive a robust set of course materials that caters to each of the three primary individual learning-intake styles (auditory, visual, and kinaesthetic-tactual) - critical for a successful accelerated learning experience.
Daily lectures, exercises, and review sessions are supplemented by a combination of:
Firebrand Training has an aggressive educational schedule that thoroughly covers all essential elements critical to an effective Project Management Professional
The PMP Examination measures the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques that are utilized in the practice of project management and is based on the PMP Examination Specification that details the percentage of questions contained in each performance domain (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Controlling, Closing, and Professional and Social Responsibility).
The examination is comprised of 200 multiple-choice questions, of which 25 are considered pretest questions. Pretest questions are randomly placed throughout the exam and do not effect the candidate's score. They are used in examinations as an effective and legitimate way to increase the number of future examination questions.
The allotted time to complete the examination is four hours. The four-hour examination is preceded by a 15-minute computer tutorial, which is not part of the allotted four hours.
PMP Examination questions are:
The passing score for the PMP Examination is determined by a criterion-referenced approach called the Modified Angoff Technique, a certification industry standard practice relying on the collective judgments of groups of PMP certificants from around the globe.
Upon registering for a course, a Firebrand Training customer service representative will guide you through the examination enrollment process. Once your application has been processed, if eligible, you will receive an eligibility letter (via e-mail) directly from the Project Management Institute. Test candidates have one (1) year from the date their application is approved and processed to take the examination. This date is printed at the top of the first page of the candidate's eligibility letter. Candidates may take the exam a maximum of three times within their eligibility period.
PMP candidates who pass the exam may use the credential as long as they comply with the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. The CCR program supports PMPs in developing their professional knowledge and maintaining their credentials by requiring participation in activities during the CCR cycle, which are assigned a PDU value.
Attention: the examination fee is not included in the course costs.

To obtain the PMP credential, candidates must first demonstrate eligibility by meeting the following requirements:
Candidates have to document 35 contact hours of project management education/training. One contact hour is equal to one hour of participation in an educational activity. These hours must be related to project management and can include content on project quality, scope, time, cost, human resources, communications, risk, procurement, or integration management. Courses, workshops and training sessions in one or more of the following categories satisfy the education requirement:
The following education does not satisfy the education requirements:
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
"The Firebrand PMP-course was an excellent opportunity for me, in a short amount of time, to get an overview of the comprehensive methodology from PMI. To be presented with the link between the PMBOK and real life experience was essential to get a passing grade on the exam.

"The Firebrand concept of intensive training away from the potential distractions of day to day work and home life is very effective. Everyone involved is very professional and it is all about the certification. The days are intensive but the instructor was very well able to balance the content so we were not completely exhausted by the end of the week, but ready to take the test. I believe all course attendees successfully attained formal certification from the awarding body at the end of the course - you can not get more effective and efficient than that!"
