A Firebrand Training
5
Day Course
Windows Vista is dubbed as Microsoft's most compelling operating system release in over a decade. Windows Vista offers substantial new capabilities in security, performance, reliability, and manageability. It is also the first operating system released with the .NET Framework 3.0 in mind, and the first client operating system to include the .NET Framework 3.0 as a part of its own installation.
Our 5 day accelerated MCTS Vista - MCP Windows Server 2003 Firebrand Training provides information technology professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2003 based networks with a focus on the latest Vista operating system. This is an accelerated, residential, fully-immersed course, designed for IT professionals that require effective, real-world skill-building and timely certification. You will live, learn, and test on-site.
For IT managers, certification is particularly important because it allows them to more easily identify the skills that an individual possesses. When a company has employees that possess certain skills, it can garner a competitive advantage when seeking to attract customers. Certification can also contribute to increased productivity, because studies have shown that certified individuals are generally quicker to implement and design new technologies. And of course by knowing that their employees are certified, IT managers can feel more confident about their ability to implement and support a network infrastructure.
Looking at security in particular, recent surveys from CompTIA and others show that human error, rather than technical malfunction, is the most significant cause of IT security breaches in both the public and private sectors. When asked, an overwhelming majority of companies agree that employee training and certification programs improve network security and help protect against cyber threats. In fact, most companies identify a lack of IT security knowledge and training, or failure to follow security procedures, as the root causes of many of their security issues.
Also, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in its National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, has said that the two major barriers to improving cyber-security are a lack of familiarity, knowledge and understanding of security issues, and an inability to find sufficient numbers of adequately trained or appropriately certified personnel to create and manage secure systems. So there are real benefits in organizations ensuring that their IT professionals have the right skills to reduce the effects of human error on information security.
Demonstrate Value to Enterprise Security. The CompTIA Security+ Certification provides a way for individuals to highlight their focus on security in the enterprise and demonstrate their ability to create a secure computing environment.
Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.
Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.
This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.
Firebrand Training's MCTS Vista - MCP Windows Server 2003 Accelerated Certification Program is the most effective, efficient way to learn how to successfully design, plan, and implement a network infrastructure, Active Directory infrastructure, and client deployment on the Windows Server 2003 platform.
Students attending this blended-learning program will receive a robust set of course materials that caters to each of the three primary individual learning-intake styles (auditory, visual, and kinaesthetic-tactual) - critical for a successful accelerated learning experience.
Daily lectures, labs, and review sessions are supplemented by a combination of:
The MCTS Vista - MCP Windows Server 2003 Program prepares students to achieve the MCTS Vista - MCP Windows Server 2003 certifications during the program
Microsoft Certified Professionals for Vista (MCP) candidates on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 track are required to satisfy the following requirements:
Firebrand Training offers top-quality technical education and certification training in an all-inclusive course package specifically designed for the needs and ease of our students. We attend to every detail so our students can focus solely on their studies and certification goals.
Our instructors teach to accommodate every student's learning needs through individualised instruction, hands-on labs, lab partner and group exercises, independent study, self-testing, and question/answer drills.
Firebrand Training has dedicated, well-equipped educational facilities where you will attend instruction and labs and have access to comfortable study and lounging rooms. Our students consistently say our facilities are second-to-none.
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year. Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.
Students that are successful in the MCTS Vista - MCP Windows Server 2003 Accelerated Certification Program should possess a minimum of one year of networking experience supporting a Windows NT/2000/2003/XP network.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.

"The whole Firebrand setup is very much focused on zero distraction learning. They provide an excellent environment in which all your needs are met such that you can focus soley on the task in hand - namely learning. At times it can be tiring, even exhausting, but if you are prepared to put the work in, the rewards are potentially massive. I would certainly consider taking another Firebrand course but not until the intensity of this one has faded from memory!"

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (8 Days) (20/7/2008 to 27/7/2008)
"I did not know what to expect, as I had not been on a boot camp before. The experience was good, the focus was on learning and getting certifications. It was very hectic, lectures from 8.30am till 10.30pm every day with 2x45mins breaks for food, studying afterwards till early hours. An objective that was realised in comfortable inspired surroundings. "
AO, Gyrosoft Applied Solutions Ltd.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (8 Days) (20/7/2008 to 27/7/2008)
"Again, I was impressed with the facilities and staff."
Mark LePetit, Invomo Ltd.
(ISC)2 CISSP Boot Camp (7 Days) (14/7/2008 to 20/7/2008)
"An excellent course. The pacing was just right, with several long days of lectures, but with time always being made available for additional reading and lab work, which is essential on a course like this. Despite not completing all the exams yet (I decided to defer the Windows 2008 exams in order to get some more hands on experience with some of the areas I had previously had little exposure to), I will leave the course with a lot more confidence and knowledge than when I came. With a little bit more self study I should be able to successfully complete the exams.
The instructor was excellent and made the course very enjoyable. He had vast amounts of real world experience which is always invaluable and was more than happy to elaborate on any questions raised.
The whole team at Firebrand were friendly and made the whole prospect of being away from home for 2 weeks much easier than I had anticipated. The food was also varied and of a very high quality.
Despite being very apprehensive about attending the course beforehand, I would not hesitate to recommend Firebrand as an effective training solution, and I hope to return to do additional courses in the future!"
Michael Dutton, CP Kelco UK Ltd.
