"For me the accelerated route was perfect as I am an IT Consultant so I had a lot of experience in Windows 2003 / AD, therefore I was able to fill in the gaps, learn new topics or confirm that my knowledge was still relevant for MCITP 2008. Having to learn Vista properly was actually useful! Being able to gain the certification in two weeks while learning the products was very useful and I am not sure if I would have ever got there doing self study or separate courses/exams. Be warned you need experience otherwise there are a lot concepts that will be just that "concepts" and you don't have time to learn everything from scratch."
