A Firebrand Training
7
Day Course
The goal of this seven-day accelerated course is to provide information security professionals a fully-immersed, zero-distraction, all-inclusive CISSP CBK training and certification experience. Our CISSP Firebrand Training encompasses the (ISC)2 CISSP CBK Review Seminar, value-added instruction, on-site examination delivery, meals, and accommodation.
The CISSP certification is governed by the International Information Systems Security Certifications Consortium (ISC)2 and has gained importance as a key component in the selection process for management-level information security positions.
The key advantage of authorized (ISC)2 Institute Training is fundamental: The institute's goal is to provide an extensive overview of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), the compendium of information security practices and standards compiled and continually updated by (ISC)2 and used as the basis for the CISSP exam.
The benefits listed below are but a few of the advantages you can receive when doing business with an (ISC)2 host partner. Only authorized host partners:
Information security professionals invest substantially in information assets, including technology, architecture and process. But how can protection of these assets be ensured? Only through the strengths of the professionals in charge.
Industry standards, ethics and certification of IS professionals and practitioners becomes critical to ensuring a higher standard for security is achieved. (ISC)2, as the only not-for-profit consortium charged with maintaining, administering and certifying IS professionals in the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), is the premier resource for IS professionals worldwide.
Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.
Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.
This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.
The following topics are presented during our CISSP Program:
Security management entails the identification of an organisation's information assets and the development, documentation, and implementation of policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Management tools such as data classification and risk assessment/analysis are used to identify threats, classify assets, and to rate system vulnerabilities so that effective controls can be implemented.
The Security Architecture and Design domain contains the concepts, principles, structures, and standards used to design, monitor, and secure operating systems, equipment, networks, applications and those controls used to enforce various levels of availability, integrity, and confidentiality.
Access controls are a collection of mechanisms that work together to create a security architecture to protect the assets of the information system.
This domain addresses the important security concepts that apply to application software development. It outlines the environment where software is designed and developed and explains the critical role software plays in providing information system security.
Operations Security is used to identify the controls over hardware, media, and the operators and administrators with access privileges to any of these resources. Audit and monitoring are the mechanisms, tools, and facilities that permit the identification of security events and subsequent actions to identify the key elements and report the pertinent information to the appropriate individual, group, or process.
The Physical (Environmental) Security domain provides protection techniques for the entire facility, from the outside perimeter to the inside office space, including all of the information system resources.
The cryptography domain addresses the principles, means, and methods of disguising information to ensure its integrity, confidentiality and authenticity.
The telecommunications, network, and Internet security domain discusses the:
The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) domain addresses the preservation and recovery of business operations in the event of outages.
The Law, Investigations, and Ethics domain addresses
The CISSP Certification examination consists of 250 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have up to 6 hours to complete the examination. Ten CISSP information systems security test domains are covered in the examination pertaining to the Common Body of Knowledge:
Upon successfully passing your CISSP Certification examination, you will receive your certificate and ID card. You are also eligible to be listed in the CISSP Directory, can elect to participate in the Speakers' Bureau, and you can serve on (ISC)2 committees and participate in annual elections.
Recertification is also required every 3 years, with on-going requirements for maintaining your credentials in good standing. This is primarily accomplished through continuing professional education (CPE) and the earning of 120 CPE credits every three years. More on qualifying for credits will be available upon certification.
The CISSP Accelerated Course encompasses the (ISC)2 CISSP CBK Review Seminar, value-added instruction, on-site examination delivery, meals and accommodation. We attend to every detail so our students can focus solely on their studies and certification goals.
The official (ISC)2 five-day review course provides information security professionals, namely Network Administrators and Executive Managers, the information required to demonstrate a mastery of information security - and ultimately pass the Certified Information Systems Security Professional exam.
Firebrand Training utilises official (ISC)2 copyrighted training materials for the program delivery. These materials have been derived from extensive work from CISSPs, (ISC)2 Instructors, and Subject Matter Experts in developing material and presentation.
Firebrand Training includes the official (ISC)2 practice exam that covers 100 sample questions which are representative of the actual examination questions. In addition, students receive an individualized practice exam evaluation.
The CISSP examinations are delivered at our site - with (ISC)2 approval - not at 'local' testing centres that are subject to seat availability. The exam voucher needs to be purchased directly from (ISC)2.
Firebrand Training offers top-quality technical education and certification training in an all-inclusive course package specifically designed for the needs and ease of our students. We attend to every detail so our students can focus solely on their studies and certification goals.
Our instructors teach to accommodate every student's learning needs through individualised instruction, hands-on labs, lab partner and group exercises, independent study, self-testing, and question/answer drills.
Firebrand Training has dedicated, well-equipped educational facilities where you will attend instruction and labs and have access to comfortable study and lounging rooms. Our students consistently say our facilities are second-to-none.
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year. Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.
To become a CISSP, a candidate must successfully complete two processes: Examination and Certification:
The eligibility requirements to sit for the CISSP examination are completely separate from the eligibility requirements necessary to be certified.
To sit for the CISSP examination, a candidate must:
To be issued a certificate, a candidate must:
Once a candidate has been notified of passing the CISSP examination, he or she will be required to have his or her application endorsed by a CISSP before the credential can be awarded. If no CISSP can be found, another qualified professional with knowledge of information systems or an officer of the candidates corporation can be used to validate the candidate's professional experience.
The endorser will attest that the candidate's assertions regarding professional experience are true to the best of their knowledge, and that the candidate is in good standing within the information security industry.
Upon receipt of the Endorsement Form and barring a random audit of the candidate's professional experience, the CISSP credential should be awarded within one business day, with a formal notification sent via e-mail.
A percentage of the candidates who pass the CISSP examination and submit endorsements will be randomly subjected to audit and required to submit a resume for formal review and investigation.
If audited (subject to results), the credential will be awarded within seven business days and notification sent via e-mail. Naturally, there may be some delays due to mail service or the number of forms received. Also, audits may require additional time for verifying information and/or contacting references.
Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.
Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
