Sun - Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA)

A Firebrand Training
6
Day Course

Sun - Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA) - Overview

Seven reasons why you should sit your SCEA course with Firebrand Training

  1. You’ll be SCEA certified in just 6 days. With us, you’ll be SCEA trained in record time
  2. Our SCEA course is all-inclusive. A one-off fee covers all course materials, exams, accommodation and meals. No hidden extras
  3. Pass SCEA first time or train again for free. This is our guarantee. We're sure you'll pass your SCEA course first time. But if you don’t, come back within a year, and only pay for accommodation and exams. Everything else is free
  4. You’ll learn more SCEA. A day with a traditional training provider generally runs from 9am – 5pm, with a nice long break for lunch. With Firebrand Training you’ll get at least 12 hours/day quality learning time, with your instructor
  5. You’ll learn SCEA faster. Chances are, you’ll have a different learning style to those around you. We combine visual, auditory and tactile styles to deliver the material in a way that ensures you will learn faster and more easily
  6. You’ll be studying SCEA with the best. We have won the Institute of IT Training’s "Training Company of the Year" a record three times. As well as winning many more awards, we’ve trained and certified 20,000 professionals, and we’re partners with all of the big names in the business
  7. You'll do more than study SCEA courseware. We use labs, case studies and practice tests to make sure you can apply your new knowledge to the work environment. Our instructors use demonstrations and real-world experience to keep the day interesting and engaging.

Firebrand Training's 6 day Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA) provides students with knowledge needed to develop robust architectures for enterprise Java applications using the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) technology. The Enterprise Java applications developed using the architecture as a guideline can accommodate rapid change and growth.

By taking this course, participants gain an understanding of the technical context of the Java EE and relevant technologies, and strategies needed to create application blueprints that work well when implementing Java EE technologies. These strategies include effective decision making through the use of systemic qualities (such as scalability and flexibility), Java EE technology blueprints and design patterns.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

  1. Make good use of Java EE component technologies to solve typical problems in system architecture
  2. Derive software systems using techniques outlined in the Java EE Blueprint and solutions defined in the Java EE Patterns catalogue
  3. Address quality-of-service requirements in a cost-effective manner using engineering trade-off techniques
  4. Describe the role of the architect and the products an architect delivers
  5. List and describe typical problems associated with large-scale enterprise systems

Sun - Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA) - Benefits

Students who can benefit from this course are those who are responsible for the overall software architecture and design of Java EE technology-based enterprise software systems. These students would also require insight into the role of the enterprise architect and want to use Java EE technologies in n-tier enterprise systems. Existing architects can also benefit from an understanding of how to use Java EE technologies to improve quality of service in their enterprise systems.

Traditional training providers rely heavily on lecture, self-testing and self-study. Not at Firebrand Training.

Our approach is highly varied and interactive to keep your attention, promote teamwork, and reinforce knowledge gained through hands-on learning.

You will:

  • Be Immersed into a distraction-free environment - escaping your normal routine and focusing purely on learning
  • Experience Accelerated Learning methods – designed to help you learn much more quickly, spend less time out of the office, and see returns from your investment straight away
  • Be Measured through on-site exam testing - creating a complete feedback loop that ensures you understand the subject thoroughly.

You will learn more with Firebrand Training.

Day 4

Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 exam (CX-310-052)

Days 5-6

Assignment

The assignment requires that you architect a solution for a small but plausible business system. To keep the amount of work involved to a reasonable level, the programs you create will be much more restricted in capability, and much cruder in overall presentation, than anything you would actually create for a paying customer. However, the essence of the problem will be the same. You will be graded on correctly solving the technical and performance requirements, not on the "polish" of the finished product.
