CompTIA IT Project+ - Overview

The CompTIA IT Project+ certification validates your knowledge and abilities as an IT project manager.

CompTIA IT Project+ certification is a vendor-neutral credential recognized worldwide. Having an IT Project+ certification is proof that you have the critical knowledge of business practices, interpersonal skills and project management processes, in addition to the ability to effectively plan, implement and complete IT projects on time and within your budget.

The IT Project+ Accelerated Certification Program is appropriate for the following job functions:

  • Programmer, Senior Level
  • Project Manager, Intermediate Level
  • Project Manager, Entry Level
  • Software Architect, Senior Level

Our CompTIA IT Project+ Program

  • Allows you to achieve your certification in a fraction of the time of 'traditional training' while delivering industry-leading exam passing percentages
  • Helps students grasp concepts more easily by identifying and catering to individual student learning styles through a mixed visual, auditory and kinaesthetic-tactual delivery system
  • Enhances retention by employing accelerated learning techniques focused on committing information to long-term memory

CompTIA IT Project+ - Benefits

Reasons for Microsoft IT Project+ certification include career advancement, personal improvement, skills enhancement, and higher salaries.

The mean compensation for project managers in the United States is now $87,807. Project Managers on the West Coast fare even better, with mean salaries of almost $103,600. Overall, those who have received project management certification through professional associations earn about $5,000 a year more than those without certifications.

Individuals

Having proof of your skills and knowledge gives you the edge over other candidates when you're applying for a job, providing:

  • Proof of professional achievement
  • Better job opportunities
  • A viable career path
  • Foundational knowledge for additional certifications

Companies

Certification provides companies with skilled employees, leading to:

  • Increasing customer satisfaction & repeat business
  • Simplified recruiting and hiring
  • Lower training costs
  • Greater customer satisfaction
  • Measurable competence standards

According to a recent survey developed by RHI Consulting, 23 percent of CIOs named project management as the area in which their staffs could use the most improvement.

Human Resources

  • Employer-funded training and certification programs are a key to retaining skilled IT staff. Career development and advancement opportunities are shown to significantly reduce rates of employee turnover.
  • Certification Training Programs provide benchmarks for hiring and promotion decisions by accurately assessing technical skills.
  • For-certification training programs maximize educational investments through immediate validation of skills.

Other accelerated training providers rely heavily on lecture and independent self-testing and study.

Effective technical instruction must be highly varied and interactive to keep attention levels high, promote camaraderie and teamwork between the students and instructor, and solidify knowledge through hands-on learning.

Firebrand Training provides instruction to meet every learning need, including

  • Intensive group instruction
  • One-on-one instruction attention
  • Hands-on labs
  • Lab partner and group exercises
  • Question and answer drills
  • Independent study

This information has been provided as a helpful tool for candidates considering certification. Benefits of certification determined through studies do not guarantee any particular personal successes. Firebrand Training provides a guarantee of obtaining certification at the camp, but does not make any guarantees about personal successes or benefits of obtaining certification.

CompTIA IT Project+ - Prerequisites

Experience

IT Project+ certification provides an independent validation that the project manager has mastered the foundation-level concepts applicable to IT and traditional projects. IT Project+ certifies knowledge mastery equivalent to 2,000-hours project-management experience.

Firebrand Training staff interview all potential students regarding their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and personal fortitude. This screening process ensures a successful match between the customer and Firebrand Training toward accelerated training and certification.

Firebrand Training is an aggressive training environment. You must have an attitude aimed for success. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.

IT Project+ Testimonials

"Firebrand offers effective and skilled exam preparation for all ages, even mature students. The training in a quiet environment helps students rapidly increase their speed and ability to pass the exams. Focused learning and exam technique produces positive results."
JOHN BENSON, IT company in Brighton.
CompTIA A+ (4 Days) (28/7/2008 to 31/7/2008)

"I did not know what to expect, as I had not been on a boot camp before. The experience was good, the focus was on learning and getting certifications. It was very hectic, lectures from 8.30am till 10.30pm every day with 2x45mins breaks for food, studying afterwards till early hours. An objective that was realised in comfortable inspired surroundings. "
AO, Gyrosoft Applied Solutions Ltd.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (8 Days) (20/7/2008 to 27/7/2008)

"Certainly this was an experience and a half. Never done any boot camps before, but once you are in there the intensity of it all does hit you at first, then you adapt and focus yourself to the training/studying. Relaxing/chilling out was very little as you are constantly working. If you want an environment to study without disruption, then Firebrand Training is the place, but be prepared it does knacker you out though!"
SM, Ascribe Plc.
Microsoft Exchange 2007 (7 Days) (7/7/2008 to 13/7/2008)

"This was a very intensive course on which I learned a lot and enjoyed. The food was excelent."
Matthew Edmundson, NDS.
Microsoft MCTS SQL Server 2005 (5 Days) (9/6/2008 to 13/6/2008)

Anila Hoxha, Raffeisenbank Albania.

Chris McKenna, Alternative networks PLC.
(ISC)2 CISSP Boot Camp (7 Days) (23/6/2008 to 29/6/2008)

"I have learned more in my time at Firebrand Training than I thought possible. A draining, but rewarding experience. You need to give 150% though and visits to the nearby hotel bar should be kept to a minimum! "
Ralph Hardwick, Rapport Creative.

"Study hard and you will pass. "

Microsoft MCSE 2003 Certification (14 Days) (21/7/2008 to 3/8/2008)

RB, Scientia Ltd.
Microsoft MCSA Vista (9 Days) (18/8/2008 to 26/8/2008)

"A boot camp is never going to be easy but having a great lecturer with real world experience and advice is invaluable. It is also a benifit to have all meals provided and scheduled into the day so that you can concerntrate entirely on the course. The people I met on the course were great and have kept in touch with them. To ensure sucesses make sure you do some proper study beforehand but at minimum what you get sent. I did hardly any and still passed but I am sure I would have got more out of it had been able to schedule bit more work. "
Richard Whjght, TSG.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV (6 Days) (28/7/2008 to 2/8/2008)

"Very friendly, felt comfortable from day 1, almost part of the team."

"Again, I was impressed with the facilities and staff."
Mark LePetit, Invomo Ltd.

"I have just done the 6-day Nav course and although it was very intense.... Firebrand made my experience very enjoyable!"
Michael Chan, Arken Dispays.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV (6 Days) (28/7/2008 to 2/8/2008)

"If you want intense, effective training then this is the place to be! The great food and company help, too :-)"
TLR, ColArt Fine Art & Graphics.
Microsoft SharePoint Professional (Dual MCTS) (5 Days) (16/6/2008 to 20/6/2008)

"My experience at Firebrand Training, provided a highly focused review of the key exam topics. I would readily recommend this form of training to individuals that have a fundamental understanding of networking concepts and Cisco Technologies; for those new to the industry, however, pick up a book before attending: the speed and intensity of the course will otherwise kill you."
Gordon Speck, Stockport College.
Cisco CCNA Certification (6 Days) (30/6/2008 to 5/7/2008)

"The course was hard, but the lecturer presented the subject matter in a way that helped it to sink in. The staff were friendly and food was great. The constant supply of snacks and drinks helped to keep the energy levels up, which was needed as the studying went on into the wee small hours. I would definitely recommend studying with Firebrand Training."
Richard Tomlinson, Self Employed.
Microsoft SharePoint Professional (Dual MCTS) (5 Days) (16/6/2008 to 20/6/2008)

"An excellent way to train. Removing myself from the constant and numorous daily distractions was extremely beneficial. And to that end the Firebrand approach was brilliant."
Geoff Hickman, Typhoo Tea Ltd.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer (8 Days) (15/6/2008 to 22/6/2008)

"Having self funded the course I feel that I recieved excellent value for money. "
Adrian Law, Soon to be self employed.
PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner (5 Days) (28/7/2008 to 1/8/2008)

"This is not a course for people who struggle to pick up new ideas quickly, the pace is very fast and the exams really test your knowledge. Our trainer was outstanding and answered all the questions we could throw at him, and also gave us lots of valuable advice from his real-world experience. He also contribute to a fun and positive atmosphere amoung the group. Lessons last all day from around 8:30am to any time in the evening (our earliest finish was around 10:30), with occasional short breaks, making the course very intensive. However, I believe everyone in our group has learned a huge amount and I would recommend the course to any IT professional who learns quickly, isnt afraid of some hard work and can function on little sleep!"
Karen Newitt, Prior Analytics.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (8 Days) (20/7/2008 to 27/7/2008)

"Course was great, learned a lot in my nine days but it is hard work."
Stephen Thomson, Unifrax Ltd.
Microsoft MCTS .NET - Web and Windows Applications (9 Days) (14/7/2008 to 22/7/2008)

"Great, do not expect to sleep. when they said you eat, sleep and train in centre, that is exactly what they mean. It is tough but good."
David Wong, Royal Bank of Scotland.
Microsoft MCSA Vista (9 Days) (23/6/2008 to 1/7/2008)

"The days were LONG and hard, but the course was very insightful. Great instructor, good food, and good facilities. Im considering coming back one day to complete my MCSE."
SK, Endon Lighting Ltd..
Microsoft MCSA 2003 (9 Days) (21/7/2008 to 29/7/2008)

"Truly immersive, you start to live and breathe the course material, thinking of nothing else, not communicating with the outside and not having a care in the worls outside of CISSP. Sets you up perfectly for the 6 hour exam."
Neil Ginns, nCipher.
(ISC)2 CISSP Boot Camp (7 Days) (14/7/2008 to 20/7/2008)

"An excellent experience. This environment suited my training needs exactly. The instructor knows his subject inside out. I would use Firebrand again. One tip - be prepared to put in the hours!"
Robert Anthoney, Self employed.
PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner (5 Days) (7/7/2008 to 11/7/2008)

"Hard work but worthwhile."
Alun Sainsbury, Anite.
Microsoft Dynamics AX Financials (8 Days) (10/8/2008 to 17/8/2008)

Gregory Cecil, RCS Inc.
Microsoft MCTS SQL Server 2005 (5 Days) (9/6/2008 to 13/6/2008)

"A good course with an excellent and highly capable trainer. Allow lots of time for the pre-reading. Spend some extra time reading up on network security, and also plenty on DNS, since the make up large and very important parts of the course that relate highly to ALL the modules. Dont be mislead into thinking that you will walk away from it just ticking all the boxes to get the MCSE, it is a lot of very hard work. It has provided me with a very good foundation upon which to complete my certification. My Thanks go to all the staff and of course to the trainer, who went through plenty of hoops and midnight oil to give us the best possible chances of coming away with the most we could. "
DO, The Medical Research Council Of Great Britain.
